Obsessive Compulsive Thoughts (OCD)

OCD, as it is commonly known, or obsessive compulsive disorder is a disorder combining two or more other disorders resulting to a very complex condition of an individual that would tangibly hamper him or her in his daily activities, making the individual very unproductive at the end of the day. The two main disorders of OCD are obsessions and compulsions which if goes together afflicting a poor person, the person can be viably identified as an OCD patient.

Obsessions are actually repetitive, intrusive unwanted thoughts that interfere a poor OCD sufferer. These thoughts don’t usually easily go away, especially if you are an OCD patient. The harder you think of not thinking of it, the more consciously reverting you are from the thought, the more it becomes difficult for you to divert from it. It haunts you even more. Creating a very formidable foe that goes against your daily productivity.

Compulsions are ritualistic, repetitive behaviours that a person executes each time when an obsession take place over a particular situation or object. More than half the time compulsions are results of a recurring obsession/s. That in order to cope or deal with the obsessions, you will commit an action your mind perceives it to be commensurate to your obsession. As obsessions repeat, the compulsions become more difficult and the person becomes more dependent into executing them.

Depression can make life hard to live. Depression mercilessly throws your life out of balance and disable you to enjoy your life any more. No age group can escape from the effects of depressive symptoms. Even most aged people.

Let me provide you strategies that will aid in helping to reduce problems arising from depression.

1) Depression though is very complicated issue to deal, but older people need to develop method to keep medical illness separate while identifying issue of depression.

2) Some medical diseases such as Parkinson can exacerbate depressive illness in a person. Other statistics show that people who had suffered heart attack, cancer are more likely to suffer from depression too.

3) To help get rid of depression, senior people need to maintain good working relationship between their doctors. They need to be calm and maintain patience as depression cannot go away in a short term.

4) Do not use alcohol, as it can worsen you depressive condition more. Alcohol addicted people normally took up to it when they find themselves facing any tension, or lonely.

Do not attempt to use alcohol as it is depressant in nature and will make any depression worse over time. If you are using alcohol and any drugs, their combination can be lethal.

5) Carry out regular exercise. Exercise is a powerful tool in beating depression. I can improve health and mood of sufferer by just doing simple routine exercises. People, who are not used to doing exercise, need to encourage themselves. To get benefits of exercise, they need to make themselves strong willed.

Figure revel at least 33 percent of older people in America fall once in a year. So to effectively reduce depression, senior people need to reduce number of falls. Whenever senior citizen fall they are made fun of and older people get very embarrassed in such situation. By taking good care of their health by doing regular work out can help them avoid such bad moments.

Exercise does not mean you have to take part in strenuous routines. Instead you can take part in simple one such as brisk walk in the park can also reduce depression considerably. Even other new methods such as balancing techniques can also be used by people.

Exercise contributes in reducing depression by releasing natural endorphins, which is a natural pain reducer and mood improver. Adding on person gain lot of confidence that is gained by performing these work out. Helping them feel less fear of falling down.

Many people are not ready to accept that they are witnessing depressive syndrome. Infact they get angry and refuse to listen to any suggestion given to them by their family or friends.

Therefore, it is required that senior people need to agree that depression required medical treatment. There has been significant improvement in variety of treatment in curing depression. Such people need to understand, depression can not be treated by not consulting doctor. If un treated depressive illness will increase their effect in their life, thereby crippling entire life. Proper treatment is must and for that older people need to consult any professional doctor.
